BORN HULL 10/03/1891. SON OF HENRY LEVITT (1843-1929) & BETSY GEDNEY (1849-1932) , BURSTWICK AT 59 LEE STREET, HULL. SON OF A ROAD LABOURER. HE HAD FOUR BROTHERS AND NINE SISTERS, SOME OF WHICH DIED IN INFANCY. EMPLOYED AS A WAGGONER ON BARN FARM, PAULL (1911 CENSUS).

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED AS A GUNNER, IN THE ROYAL GARRISON ARTILLERY. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 21/03/1918, AGED 27. ONE OF THREE BROTHERS KILLED IN THE WAR.
HIS BROTHERS, ALFRED LEVITT, 2ND YORK & LANCS, DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 15/01/1918, AGED 24 YRS, & PRIVATE, ARTHUR LEVITT, 1ST EYR, DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 29/101/1914. THE BROTHERS WERE PHOTOGRAPHED IN THE HULL TIMES, ON THE 05/12/1914. ANOTHER BROTHER, HAROLD HEATON LEVITT, HAD BEEN KILLED AT THE STORRY SMITHSON COMPANY, IN OCTOBER 1913, AGED 16.
