Pte, Albert Edward Lount, 2nd Yorkshire Regiment

BORN BEVERLEY 1890. SON OF ADAM LOUNT (1853-1929) AND BELINDA JONES (1850-1925). HIS FATHER WAS FROM LEICESTER AND WORKED AS A MINERAL WATER CARRIER. HIS MOTHER WAS FROM CROYDON, LONDON. HE HAD ONE BROTHER, ARTHUR, AND THREE SISTERS, ROSE, MAUD AND ELSIE. HE WORKED FOR KIRBY BROTHERS, PORK BUTCHERS, LAMBERT STREET, HULL, AS A BUTCHER.

HE MARRIED FLORENCE HARRIS AT SCULCOATE, HULL, IN 1913 AND LIVED AT 12, MELWOOD GROVE, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS).

HE ENLISTED IN HULL, IN APRIL 1916. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 22548, EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE 2ND YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 06/04/1917, AGED 26, AT NO:43 CASUALTY CLEARING STATION.

BURIED AT WARLINCOURT HALTE BRITISH CEMETERY, SAULTY, PAS DE CALAIS, FRANCE.

HE LEFT A WIDOW AND TWO BABY CHILDREN.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 20/04/1917 AND 08/04/1918.

COMMEMORATED ON ST MARYS CHURCH MEMORIAL, SCULCOATES LANE, HULL.

HIS BROTHER,  PTE, ARTHUR LOUNT (1884-1966), 46334, ARMY SERVICE CORPS, LIVED AT 14, SCULCOATES LANE, AND 2, HASLEMERE AVENUE, MELWOOD GROVE, HULL.
