Lyons, (James) Martin

BORN HULL, 1898. SON OF JAMES AND BRIDGET LYONS, OF 4 PARK PLAVE, MARLBOROUGH TERRACE, HULL (1911 CENSUS) AND LATER 2 FISHER BUILDINGS, HIGH STREET, HULL (1919). THEY HAD FOUR SONS. HIS FATHER DIED IN 1913. HIS WIDOWED MOTHER, WAS UNABLE TO WORK AND MOVED TO 171 WINCOLMLEE, HULL.

HE SERVED AS PRIVATE, 16422, WITH THE 2ND NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS AND TRANSFERRED TO PRIVATE, 651862, CLEARING OFFICE,  LABOUR CORPS. HE DIED AT A MILITARY HOSPITAL, ON 28/11/1918, JUST AFTER THE WAR ENDED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS SISTER, BRIDGET E. JOYCE AT 5 VINE STREET, MIDDLESBOROUGH.(PENSION ADDRESS). HE ALSO LEFT A WIDOWED MOTHER, WHO WAS SICK AND UNABLE TO WORK, AT 171 WINCOLMLEE, HULL.

HIS OLDER BROTHER JOHN THOMAS, LYONS, 1ST EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, WAS KILLED IN ACTION ON 24/03/1918, AGED 22.
