BROTHER IN LAW, OF MR A SWALLOW, 2 HERBERTS TERRACE, WASSAND STREET, HULL. PREVIOUSLY SERVED AS PRIVATE, 3/5833, 1ST EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE ROYAL NAVAL RESERVE. KILLED BY MINE EXPLOSION, ON 03/12/1916, AGED 24.

Remarko, built by Cook, Welton & Gemmell, Ltd., Beverley in 1914 and operated at the time of her loss by Royal Navy, was a British navy trawler of 245 tons. On December 3rd, 1916, Remarko was sunk by a mine from the German submarine UC-4 (Hans Howaldt), off Lowestoft. 12 persons were lost.
