Marflitt, John Baker

Born Scarborough, 1884. Son of Henry and Harriet Marflitt.

Husband of Rosa Marflitt, of 4, Brighton Terrace, Hopwood Street, Hull (her mother’s 1911 Census address) and 9, Burleigh Place, Providence Row, Hull (War Pension address). He had two daughters, Eva and Cecilia. He worked as a Labourer for the North Eastern Railways.

He enlisted in Hull. Formerly 4840, Northumberland Fusiliers. Transferred to the 1/4th KOYLI. Died of Gas wounds, on 24/07/1917, aged 31. Buried in Belgium.

His army effects were left to his two brothers and two sisters. He is the only MARFLITT casualty of both World Wars.
