BORN HULL 1888. SON OF WILLIAM MITCHELL (1842-1909) AND ELIZABETH MITCHELL, OF 5 QUAKERS COURT, WINCOLMLEE, HULL ONE OF ELEVEN CHILDREN. SON OF A BRICKLAYER. HE ENLISTED IN HULL, SERVED AS PRIVATE, 200809, 1/4TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 31/05/1918, AGED 29. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE SOISSONS MEMORIAL, TO THOSE KILLED DURING THE 1918 GERMAN SPRING OFFENSIVE. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS SISTER INLAW, CHARLOTTE MITCHELL AND BROTHER PETER MITCHELL LIVED AT 3 MILTON TERRACE, CLEVELAND STREET, HULL. (CWGC ADDRESS)
