Osgerby, Joseph

Born Barton upon Humber, Lincolnshire. 1889. Son of Thomas and Alice Osgerby, of 1, St Chado Lane, Barton and 8, Marine Parade, Spyvee Street, Hull (War Pension address). He had four brothers and six sisters. Worked as a polisher and A cycle labourer.

Enlisted in the Royal Garrison Artillery, on 6th June 1911. Described as 5 foot, 9 inches tall, 131 lbs weight, 36-38 inch chest, brown eyes, dark brown hair, scar on front of chest, Church of England religion. Served two years in Malta.

Enlisted on 25/09/1914. Served as Gunner, with 122nd RGA. Posted to France, on 03/10/1914. Invalided to Barton Hospital and went absent, on 02/09/1915. Transferred to the 1st Hull Battery in East Africa. Died of Black Fever, on 18/03/1917 (War Pension records). No CWGC records.
