BORN DUNDEE, SCOTLAND, 1884. SON OF THE LATE HENRY & MARIA PITCAIRN, OF 17, ESTCOURT STREET, HULL (1911) AND 13, RENSBURG STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE HAD AN ELDER SISTER, MARGARET AND THREE YOUNGER BROTHERS. A SINGLE MAN. A SHIP YARD LABOURER (1911 CENSUS) AND EX RECKITT’S WORKER.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED AS PRIVATE, 35198, 12TH NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 16/06/1917, AGE 34.

COMMEMORATED ON THE ARRAS MEMORIAL, FRANCE, TO THE MISSING.

RECORDED ON THE RECKITTS WW1 MEMORIAL, HULL. HIS WIDOWED MOTHER WAS AWARDED A WEEKLY PENSION OF 15 SHILLINGS, ON 11/01/1918, FOR THE LOSS OF HER ELDEST SON.
