Born Berrywick, Yorkshire, 1899. Son of Arthur and Martha Agnes Riley, of 33, Roscoe Road, Roundhay Road, Leeds (CWGC address).
He enlisted in Hull. Served with the 1/8th Lancashire Fusiliers. Killed in action, on 23/10/1918, aged 19. He is buried in France.
