Norwood Street WW1 Memorial, Beverley

Born Beverley, 1898. Son of Thomas Watson Roden (1859-1921) and Edith Wardell, of 51a, Queen Street, Hull and 196 Norwood, Beverley (War pension addresses). Son of a House Painter. He had one brother and five sisters. He enlisted in Beverley. Served with the 2/6th Sherwood Foresters. Killed by a gas shell explosion, on 24/04/1917, aged 19. His body was never recovered. He is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial to the miising on the Somme. Also recorded on the Norwood Street Memorial, Beverley.
