BORN HULL 1889. MARRIED AT HULL IN 1907. HE ENLISTED IN THE HULL PALS SHORTLY AFTER WAR WAS DECLARED. SERVED IN EGYPT AND FRANCE. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION ON 27TH MAY 1916, AGED 27. HE LEFT HIS WIFE FLORENCE EMMA JOHNSON & THREE SMALL CHILDREN, (FLORENCE, CHARLES AND ALBERT) AT 2 HILDAS AVENUE, PERTH STREET, HULL. HE ALSO LIVED AT 21 WELLSTED STREET. BEFORE THE WAR HE WORKED FOR IDEAL STANDARD AS A RADIATOR TESTER. HIS NAME IS LISTED WITH 46 EMPLOYEES, ON HULL’S IDEAL BOLIER AND RADIATOR COMPANY MEMORIAL, NATIONAL AVENUE, HULL.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH ON 9TH JUNE 1916. *
