BORN HULL 30/01/1895. SON OF MR ISSAC ROSENTHALL (1853-1930) & FANNY ROSENTHAL (1858-1929), AT  10, MYTON STREET, HULL & 44 GRAFTON STREET, LEEDS. ONE OF TWELVE CHILDREN. HIS FATHER RAN A TOBACCONIST SHOP. EMPLOYED AS A TAILOR.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 01/09/1914, AGED 20 YEARS AND 8 MONTHS. HIS ARMY RECORDS DESCRIBE HIM AS 5 FOOT, 6.5 INCHES TALL, 36 INCH CHEST, 131 LBS WEIGHT, HAZEL EYES, AND BROWN HAIR. REJECTED FOR THE CAVALRY REGIMENT HE JOINED THE 16TH NORTHUMBERLAND FUSILIERS IN NEWCASTLE. HE TRAVELED TO FRANCE. DIED ON THE SOMME, ON 22/07/1916, AGED 23.

UNMARRIED. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER, ISSAC.

HE LEFT EIGHT BROTHERS AND THREE SISTERS.
