Seaton, Henry (Harry)

BORN HULL 1892. SON OF THE LATE HENRY & ANNIE MARIA (BOWEN) & STEPSON OF CHARLES BOWEN, OF 189 MERSEY STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION & CWGC ADDRESS).

BEFORE THE WAR HE WORKED AS A FLOUR MILLER AND WAS EMPLOYED ON THE HULL & BARNSLEY RAILWAY LINE. HE WAS UNMARRIED AND LIVED WITH HIS MOTHER AT 189 MERSEY STREET. HE HAD BEEN AT THE FRONT FOR TEN MONTHS WHEN HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, AGED 25. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 13TH JULY 1916 WITH HIS PHOTOGRAPH. *

HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON THE MERSEY STREET ROLL OF HONOUR (Hull Daily Mail 30 December 1916)
HE IS BURIED AT DAOURS COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION, SOMME, FRANCE. HIS GRAVE READS, “IN THE MIDST OF LIFE WE ARE IN DEATH”.

HIS BROTHER, HAROLD SEATON, WAS WOUNDED AND SENT BACK TO FRANCE.
