Seddon, Percy

BORN HULL 1899. SON OF WALTER & S. ELIZABETH SEDDON, OF THE POPLARS, HORNSEA, AND THIS ADDRESS (HULL DAILY MAIL 13/08/1917). SON OF A MILL WRIGHT. FROM A ROMAN CATHOLIC FAMILY. HE HAD AN OLDER BROTHER, WALTER BERNARD SEDDON. HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY, 4053, EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE 10TH KING’S OWN YORKSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 25/09/1916, AGED 17. HIS BODY WAS NEVER FOUND AND HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE THIEPVAL MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING AT THE SOMME.
HE IS ALSO REMEMBERED ON THE ST VINCENT’S CHURCH MEMORIAL PLAQUE, QUEENS ROAD, HULL
