Shepperson, Ernest

borm 1899, Pte Ernest Shepperson was the youngest son. His parents lived at 330 Holderness Road, Hull.  He enlisted in the 11th East Yorkshire regiment at the age of 16. Trained at Ripon and Salisbury Plain. Served in Egypt and France, seeing much hard fightin Spent four months in Birkenhead Hospital with Trench fever. Transferred to the 7th East Yorkshire Battalion. He was reported missing, presumed killed on 25/03/1918, aged 20.

Before the war, he worked for the Hull Co-Operative branch on Franklin Street, Hull. He was a Boys Brigade member, Brunswick Company and held the rank of Lance Corporal.

His death was reported in the Hull Daily Mail 26 June 1919. *
