Skillings, Richard

Pte, Richard Skillings, Canadians.

Born 17/08/1891 • Hull, Yorkshire, England. Son of John Skillings (1851-1906) and Agnes Clapham (1851-1898), of Hull. A domestic Servant, at Stainton Hall, Kendal, Westmoreland, UK (1911 Census). Arrived in Halifax Canada on February 10 1912, aboard the Corsican. Resided at 30 John St. St Thomas, Ontario, Canada, where he  worked as an industrious farmer. He enlisted in 1915. Served with the 2nd Bn. Canadian Infantry. Died of wounds on 5/05/1917, at the 19th Clearing Staion, in France, aged 25.

He is buried at Aubigny-en-Artois, Departement du Pas-de-Calais, Nord-Pas-de-Calais, France
