Born Keyingham, 1888. Son of William Henry Snaith and Fanny Clark (1857-1938) , of North Street, Patrington, Yorks. Son of Highway Surveyor. He had one brother and two sisters. He went by the name of henry Snaith. Worked as a Grocer’s Assistant, (1911 Census). He married Sybil Jackson, at Guisborough, in 1912.

He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenat in the 2nd King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. Killed in action, on 05/04/1918, aged 30. Buried in France. He left £89 in his will to his mother.
