BORN HULL 1890. SON OF EDWARD PEEL STIRK (1848-1919) AND FANNY RICHARDSON (1853-1940), OF 26 MULGRAVE STREET, HULL. HE HAD A BROTHER, CLAUDE STIRK AND FOUR SISTERS, – ADA, EVA, ELMA, AND CLARICE STIRK.

HE WAS MARRIED AT ST PAUL’S CHURCH, HULL, ON 31/05/1914. HIS WIFE, ESTHER KELLETT AND THEIR TWO CHILDREN, EDWARD AND ETHEL, LIVED AT 120, WATERLOO STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). A BARMAN AND FORMER TIME EXPIRED TERRITORIAL, HE ENLISTED HULL 16/11/1914. SERVED IN EGYPT FROM 15/12/1915. ARRIVED FRANCE 08/03/1916. PROMOTED CORPORAL 16/09/1916. REPORTED WOUNDED AND MISSING ON 13/11/1916. HIS WIFE MOVED TO 35 PRINCESS STREET, WITHERNSEA AFTER HIS DEATH. HIS FATHER EDWARD DIED IN 1919.
