Stollard, Lawrence Henry

Born Kinsley, YorkshireEngland, 1896. Son of Annie E. Stollard (1870-1937), of Wellingborough House, Carr Lane, Havercroft, Wakefield, and the late Reuben Stollard (1865-1913). His mother moved to 21, Edward’s Place, Commercial road, Hull (War Pension address). Son of a Miner. He had two brothers and two sisters. He worked with his two brothers, as a Pony Driver in the Wakefield Coal Pits.

He enlisted in 1914, aged 18. He served in the 2nd/5th Bn. King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. Killed in action, on 27/11/1917, aged 21. Commemorated on the Cambrai Memorial, France.
