HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 26/09/1917, AGED 17 YEARS AND 9 MONTHS. TRAINED AT RUGELEY CAMP. SERVED WITH THE 18TH DURHAM LIGHT INFANTRY. HE WAS KILLED IN ACTION, ON 12/04/1918, AGED 18. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER, WALTER.
