BORN HULL 1886. ONLY SON OF ROBERT HENRY TINDALE & ANNIE E TINDALE, OF 7, COMBERMERE AVENUE, WOODCOCK STREET, HULL (1901 CENSUS), 26, GLASGOW STREET, HULL (1911 CENSUS) AND SOUTHCOATES LANE, HULL. SON OF A TRAM DRIVER. HE ALSO WORKED AS A HULL TRAM DRIVER. BROTHER TO CARRIE AND ALICE TINDALE.

HE MARRIED BEATRICE ELLEN DYE, AT HULL, IN 1909. THEY LIVED AT 11, WESTBOURNE AVENUE, GLOUCESTER STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS)

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED AS CORPORAL, 203288, 1/4TH KING’S YORKSHIRE LIGHT INFANTRY. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 24/07/1917, AGED 30.
HE IS BURIED AT COXYDE MILITARY CEMETERY, BELGIUM. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “IN LOVING MEMORY OF A DEAR HUSBAND REST IN PEACE HIS LOVING WIFE”

HE IS ALSO COMMEMORATED ON THE WW1 MEMORIAL, AT ST JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH, NEWINGTON, HULL.
