Hull Teachers ww1 Memorial, Guildhall, Hull. Included the names of 27 Hull teachers lost in WW1. Two further names were added.

BORN WORCESTER 1879. SON OF ARTHUR TOMKINS (1854-1913) & CHARLOTTE TOMKINS, WHO LIVED IN BAYSTON, SALOP. WIFE SELINA TOMKINS LIVED AT 3, SUTTON STREET, SPRING BANK, HULL.

HE WAS A SCHOOL TEACHER.  HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE 13TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, IN EGYPT AND FRANCE. SURVIVED THE BATTLES OF THE SOMME AND OPPY WOOD. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 16/06/1917, AGED 38. BURIED AT HULL WESTERN CEMETERY.

HE HAD MARRIED SELINA BELL AT HULL IN 1915. SHE WAS AN OLDER WOMEN BORN ON 29/03/1857. THEY NO CHILDREN.
