Pte, Tom Triplett, 7th EYR

BORN HULL 1893.  YOUNGEST SON OF WILLIAM HENRY TRIPLETT (1855-1929) AND MARY ANN BALLS (1857-1897), OF 21 WARWICK STREET, HULL. WORKED AS A MILL SAWYER, WITH HIS FATHER. BROTHER TO GEORGE (1882-1934) AND WILLIAM (1877-1931). HIS TWO SISTERS DIED WHEN THEY WERE TEENAGERS. HE ENLISTED IN HULL. JOINING THE 13TH EAST YORSHIRE (4TH HULL PALS) REGIMENT. HE TRANSFERRED TO THE 7TH BATTALION. DIED OF WOUNDS AT THE SOMME, ON 13/08/1918, AGED 26. HE IS BURIED AT DAOURS COMMUNAL CEMETERY, PICARDIE, FRANCE.

NB: HIS BROTHER, GEORGE HENRY TRIPLETT, SERVED WITH THE EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, AND LIVED AT 5 ARLINGTON TERRACE, CLIFTON STREET, HULL. HE WAS ALSO A MILL SAWYER. HIS BROTHER WILLIAM SERVED IN THE ROYALS GARRISON ARTILLERY DURING THE WAR.
