HIS WIFE ELLEN LOUISA MARGARET HARPER, LIVED AT NO: 13 DENMARK STREET, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS). HE ENLISTED IN HULL. FORMERLY, PRIVATE, 242376, NOTTS AND DERBY REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE 1ST/22ND QUEEN’S ROYAL WEST SURREY REGIMENT. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 30/08/1918, AGED 32. COMMEMORATED ON THE VIS EN ARTOIS MEMORIAL, FRANCE.

HIS BROTHER, LANCE CORPORAL, CHARLIE VERITY, EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, WAS AWARDED THE MILITARY MEDAL FOR MERITORIOUS SERVICE IN FRANCE, 1918. AGED 21, HE ENLISTED IN 1915 AND BEFORE THE WAR, WORKED FOR MESSRS, ARTHUR SCOT, LIGHTOWNERS, HULL. (HDM 03/09/1918).
