HE ENLISTED AT BEVERLEY, ON 01/05/1916. FORMERLY, OF THE ROYAL FIELD ARTILLERY, BASED IN PRESTON. HE WAS POSTED TO FRANCE 07/10/1916. TRANSFERRED TO THE 8TH KING’S OWN LANCASTER REGIMENT, ON 16/10/1916. DIED OF HEAD WOUNDS, 29/09/1917, AGED 26. HE WAS UNMARRIED AND HIS PENSION WENT TO HIS FATHER GEORGE. HIS BROTHER LIVED 183 BLENHEIM STREET, HULL. HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 08/12/1918.
