BORN HULL 1884. SON OF REVEREND, WALTER RADFORD WELCH & ELIZABETH WELCH. LIVED EAST MOLESLEY, VICARAGE.

HIS WIFE MARGARET, LIVED AT CHART HOUSE, ASH VALE, ALDERSHOT (WAR PENSION RECORDS).

HE WAS A FORMER HULL GRAMMAR SCHOOLBOY AND REGULAR CAVALRY SOLDIER.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SENT TO FRANCE WITH THE BRITISH EXPEDITIONARY FORCE, ON THE OUTBREAK OF WAR. SERVED AS SERGEANT, 6452, 2ND DRAGOON GUARDS. KILLED AT YPRES, ON 21/11/1914, AGED 31. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE MENIN GATE MEMORIAL.

HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW MARGARET AND DAUGHTER, MARJORIE.

HIS DEATH WAS REPORTED IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL ON 29TH JULY 1915. HE IS COMMEMORATED ON THE HULL GRAMMAR SCHOOL MEMORIAL.
