DESCRIBED AS 5 FOOT 3.5 INCHES TALL, 112 LBS WEIGHT, 35 INCH CHEST, DARK BROWN EYES, DARK BROWN HAIR. LARGE SCAR. AND HIS NAME 2FRANK WHITE” AND A PIERCED HEART TATTOO ON HIS LEFT FOREARM. TRAINED AT ALDERSHOT. SERVED WITH THE 11TH AND 8TH YORK AND LANCASTER REGIMENT. ARRIVED IN FRANCE, ON 23/09/1915. KILLED IN ACTION ON THE FIRST DAY OF THE BATTLE OF THE SOMME. AGED 21. HE IS BURIED AT OVILLERS MILITARY CEMETERY. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS WIDOW, EMILY ANN WHITE. HE LEFTAN OLDER BROTHER, FRED AND ELDER SISTER, ALICE.
