Born Hull 1895. Son of William Wilkinson and Rebecca Spencer (1866-1914), of 11 Grove Street, The Groves, Hull (1911 Census). He had two brothers and one sister. Employed as a wooden box maker (1911 Census), living with his widowed mother and family at this address.
He enlisted in Hull. Formerly, Private 3rd East Yorkshire Regiment. Posted to France, on 24/02/1915. He died at Reckitt’s War Hospital, Hull, on 15/09/1917, aged 23.
His army effects were left to his sister, Ada Cunningham
