BORN HULL 25/02/1893. SON OF JOHN WILLIAM GLADSTONE AND ANNIE LONDESBOROUGH. A FORMER DAIRYMAN HE ENLISTED IN HULL ON 7TH APRIL 1916. HE WAS SENT TO FRANCE IN JULY 1916 AND REPORTED MISSING AT MONCHY ON 24TH APRIL 1917. HE WAS AGED 25. COMMEMORATED ON THE ARRAS MEMORIAL TO THE MISSING. HIS DEATH IS RECORDED IN THE DE RUVIGNY ROLL OF HONOUR, VOLUME 4, PAGE 101.
HE MARRIED ANNIE, AT ST STEPHENS CHURCH & LIVED AT 18 ALBERT’S TERRACE, ALEXANDRA STREET. HE LEFT TWO SMALL CHILDREN – JOHN AND ANNIE.
