BORN HOWDEN, 1892. SON OF JOHN MOUNSOR (1849-1922)& LATE ELIZA WEBSTER (1858-1913), OF 13, MELWOOD GROVE, HULL (CWGC ADDRESS). SON OF A TANNER’S LABOURER. HE HAD FOUR BROTHERS – ARTHUR, HORACE, TOM & ALBERT (ITALY).
HE WORKED AS A SLATER’S LABOURER (1911 CENSUS) AND EX NORTH EASTERN RAILWAY WORKER.
HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH “G” CORPS SIGNAL COMPANY, ROYAL ENGINEERS. DIED OF WOUNDS, ON 01/10/1917, AGED 25.
HE IS BURIED AT LIJSSENTHOEK MILITARY CEMETERY, WEST-VLAANDEREN, BELGIUM. HIS GRAVE READS, “EVER IN THOUGHT”.
HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON THE ST MARYS CHURCH MEMORIAL, SCULCOATES LANE, HULL
