HUSBAND OF BRIDGETT RICHMOND (BORN 12 MAR 1895), AT 20, SPITTLE STREET, HULL (WAR PENSION ADDRESS). HE WORKED FOR THE BRITISH OIL AND CAKE MLLS, HULL.
ENLISTED HULL. SERVED AS PRIVATE, 13565, 1ST BATTALION, COLDSTREAM GUARDS. DIED OF WOUNDS, AT THE SOMME, ON 20/11/1916, AGED 34. LISTED AS DIED OF WOUNDS IN THE HULL DAILY MAIL, ON 21/12/1916. HE IS BURIED AT GROVE TOWN CEMETERY, MEAULTE. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “R.I.P.”
HIS NAME IS RECORDED ON THE ST MARK’S STREET MEMORIAL WITH HIS BROTHER, PRIVATE, GEORGE W. RICHMOND, 6TH EYR, KILLED AT GALLIPOLI, ON 09/08/1915, AGED 27.
HIS OTHER BROTHERS, FRANK AND HARRY RICHMOND ALSO SERVED IN THE WAR.
