Born Hull 1898. Only son of George Ambrose Ridgeway & Lida Marie Agatha Favare, of 2 Elm Terrace, Beverley Road, Hull (CWGC address). he had two sisters, Phyllis and Una. His father was an accountant and the family lived at 11 Park Avenue, Hull in 1911.
Philip served as a Second Lieutenant, with the newly created Royal Air Force, Killed in a flying accident, at home, during training. Buried Hull Western Cemetery. His name is listed on Hymers School Roll of Honour
