HE ENLISTED IN HULL, ON 25/10/1915. EX 4690 4TH EYR. THIS WAS HIS ARMY RECORDS ADDRESS. POSTED TO FRANCE, ON 09/04/1916. HE SERVED WITH THE 2ND WEST RIDING REGIMENT. WOUNDED IN THE ARM, ON 15/09/1916, AND SENT TO ETAPLES. RETURNED TO HIS UNIT ON 30/10/1916. REPORTED MISSING. HE DIED OF WOUNDS, AT LANGEMARK, ON 09/10/1917, AGED 19. HE HAD SERVED IN THE ARMY, FOR 1 YEAR AND 350 DAYS.

HE LEFT A BROTHER, ALFRED, AND SISTERS, LAURA, FLORENCE AND EMMA SNOWLEY. HIS OTHER BROTHER, PRIVATE, CHARLES ALFRED SNOWLEY, 13/218, 13TH EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT, HAD DIED ON 28/01/1917, AGED 29.
