BORN HULL 20/7/1879. ONLY SON OF JOHN COOK SOUTHWICK AND SUSANNAH LONGMAN. MARRIED 22/04/1904. WIFE EDITH MIRANDA SPENCELEY. THREE SONS THOMAS, JOHN AND GEORGE. A SHIP’S STOKER. SERVED FOUR YEARS IN THE ROYAL NAVAL RESERVE, DURING THE WAR AND WAS ONE OF THE FEW SURVIVOR OF HMT “AGATE”, WHICHWAS BLOWN UP AT DOVER, ON 14/03/1918. HE DIED OF PNEUMONIA AT HULL ROYAL INFIRMARY, 29/04/1919, AGED 40. LEAVING A WIDOW AND FOUR CHILDREN. HE IS COMMEMORATED AT HULL NORTHERN CEMETERY.
