BORN ROOS, 1898. ONLY SON OF ARTHUR AND PELONA NALTON, OF 10, WORTLEY STREET, BRUMBY, SCUNTHORPE (CWGC ADDRESS) & LOCKINGTON POLICE STATION, BEVERLEY (WAR PENSION ADDRESS).  SON OF A POLICE CONSTABLE, IN LOCKINGTON, BEVERLEY. HE LIVED IN LOCKINGTON, BEVERLEY.

HE ENLISTED IN HULL. SERVED WITH THE EAST YORKSHIRE REGIMENT. TRANSFERRED TO THE 203RD MOUNTED MACHINE GUN CORPS. KILLED IN ACTION, ON 17/04/1917, AGED 19. HIS ARMY EFFECTS WERE LEFT TO HIS FATHER.

BURIED AT GORRE BRITISH AND INDIAN CEMETERY, PAS DE CALAIS, FRANCE. HIS GRAVE INSCRIPTION, READS, “SWEETLY SLEEPING IN JESUS IS OUR LOVED ONE FROM FATHER & MOTHER”
