Beaulah, Charles Henry

Born Brough Ferry, 1897. Son of the late George William Beaulah (1857-1922) & Mary Anna Verity (1859-1921), of Elloughton, Brough, Yorkshire and 53, Craven Street, Hull (war pension address). An apprentice plumber. He had four brothers and six sisters. He enlisted in Hull. Served with the 13th Northumberland Fusiliers. Killed at Arras, on 02/04/1917, aged 20. He is remembered on the Arras Memorial, France.

His brother, Pte, George Carlill Beaulah, 3585, 1/4th Northumberland Fusiliers, was killed at the Somme, on 15/09/1916, aged 22, and is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial. Both bodies were never recovered. The Brother’s names are commemorated on the Elloughton Town war memorial. Their war pensions went to their mother, Mary Anna, at 53, Craven Street, Hull, who died in 1921, aged 62.
