Born Market Weighton, 1880. Son of George and Elizabeth Long, of Little Weeton, Rowley, Yorkshire. He enlisted in Hull. Served with the 4th East Yorkshire regiment. Died of wounds, on 02/03/1917, aged 37, at the 5th Casualty Clearing Station. He left £242 in his will to heis father, George, a retired Police Inspector.
