Born Filey, North Yorkshire, 1892. Son of Thomas Skelton (1860-1920) and Mary Crimlis (1861-1927), of 5, Wenlock Place, Church St., Filey, Yorkshire. He had three brothers and four sisters. Employed as a Blacksmith’s Apprentice, living at 6 Ebenezer Terrace Queen St Filey, (1911 Census).
He enlisted at Hull. Served with the 3rdColdstream Guard. Died of wounds, on 09/05/1916, aged 23.
He is commemorated on the Filey WW1 Memorial, which lists 72 names.
