Born Hull, 1891. Son of William Land (1860-1940) and Tamar Rhodes (1859-1929), of 9, East View, Stoneferry, Hull (War Pension address) Son of a labourer. He had five brothers and four sisters.
A Labourer. Described as 5 foot, 6 inches tall, 37-39 inch chest, 129 lbs weight, brown eyes, brown hair, good character, sober and steady.
He enlisted in the Hull Pals. Served with the 11th EYR, “B” Company, Depot, in Egypt and France. Discharged on 15 Aug 1916. He had served in the army for 1 year and 349 days. Awarded the Silver wound badge (No: 103782). Died at home, on 28/03/1921, aged 30.
