Howard, William

Born Hull, 1884. Son of George and Mary Ann Howard, of 80 George Street, Hull (1911 Census). He was a Labourer Rullyman.

Later employed as a Conductor, on the Hull Corporation Tramways. Also a Territorial Reservist, with the East Riding Royal Engineers.

Enlisted in the Royal Engineers Territorials , on 4 Jane 1912.  Married at Knottingley, Christ Church, on 4 Jan 1913. Husband of Frances Earnshaw, at 7 Ferry Avenue, Stoneferry, Hull (War pension address). they had two sons, John William (born 29 may 1914) and Joseph Edward Howard (born 16 July 1916). Awarded a weekly war pension of 25/5/ Shillings.

Enlisted at Hull, August 1914. Served in the army as 1267, 2883, 211383, East Yorkshire Regiment, Royal Engineers, Royal Engineers. Discharged 19 Jan 1918. Died of Tuberculosis, on 19 Aug 1918. Awarded the Silver Wound Badge (No;314778). Discharged with sickness, on 19 Jan 1918, aged 33.

His army effects were left t o his widow, Francs and two sons, John William and Joseph Edward, at 7, Terry Avenue, Stoneferry, Hull (War Pension address)
