Born Hull 1895. Son of Lorenzo Steele Ewbank and Laura Margaret Ewbank, of 12, Ventnor Street (army Address) and 75, Newland Avenue, Hull (War Pension address). Son of a Furnisher Salesman. His mother had a Leather shop. He was a Master Upholsterer with 6 years Apprenticeship. He had an elder brother, William also in the business.
He enlisted on 26/01/1911. Served as Driver, 217021, 297th Brigade, R.F.A. Discharged after 5 years, on 22/01/1916. Transferred to the Royal Fusiliers. Discharged on 15 Aug 1918. Awarded the Silver Badge (Number: 439230). He died on 22 Feb 1921, aged 26. He married after being discharged from the army. He left widow, Gertrude, at 26, Worthing Street, Hull (war Pension records). She was refused a war pension.
