Enlisted at Hull, on 31/08/1914. Served as Sergeant, 11847, 8th Yorkshire Regiment. Promoted Corporal, on 24/02/1915. Posted to France, on 13/07/1915. returned to England, on 12/08/1919 and discharged after 4 years at the front.
Died of heart failure at Leeds hospital, on 29/02/1924, aged 48.
