Danby, Edward

Born Hull 1884. Son of Milner Danby (1846-1904) and Frances Holdsworth (1850-1922). Son of a shipping Clerk. He had four sisters and three brothers.

Employed as a Dock labourer. He married, Ada Jennie Flitton (1886-1924), at Hull, in 1908. They lived at 3 , Somerset Terrace, Staniforth Place, Hull (1911 Census) and 6, Andrew Marvel Terrace, Wyke Street, Hedon Road, Hull (War pension address). He had four daughters.

He enlisted in the East Yorkshire Regiment, at Hull, on 08/12/1915. Served overseas. Discharged on 30th May 1917, with Chronic Nephritis. Awarded the Silver War Badge (No: 188314).

His wife died in 1924. He died in Hull, March 1931, aged 46.
