Parkin, Percy

Born Barrow-on-Humber, 1895. Second Son of John W. and Sarah Parkin, of Market Place Barrow On Humber Lincolnshire. Son of a Joiner Wheelwright. He had three brothers and three sisters.

He also worked as a Joiner, living at Market Place, Barrow On Humber, Lincolnshire (1911 Census). His wife Olive, lived at 30 Pasture Road, Barrow On Humber (War pension address).

He enlisted in Hull. Served in the 8th East Yorkshire Regiment. Died of wounds, on 07/10/1917, aged 22. Buried at Wimereux, France. His grave reads, IN THE MIDST OF LIFE WE ARE IN DEATH

His army effects were left to his widow, Olive and son John Henry Parkin, born on 12th September 1915.

His brothers, Walter and Harold Parkin, served in the Lincolnshire Regiment during the war.
