Born Hunslet, Leeds. Son of Mary Wake, of 14, Hulland St., Hunslet, Leeds, and the late Austin Wake.
He enlisted in Hull. Served with the 9th West Yorkshire Regiment. Died of wounds, on 29/08/1917, aged 31.
His grave reads, ETERNAL REST GIVE TO HIM O LORD AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON HIS SOUL O LORD
