The only child of John Tom Mason and Alice Mason, of Middleton On Wolds Yorkshire (1911 Census), 18, Kimberley Street, Argyle Street, Hull (Army address) and 4, Brook Street, Driffield (War Pension address). A Chemist Assistant, working and living in Hull. described as 5 foot, 9 inches tall, 35-37 inch chest, 127 lbs weight,
Enlisted in Hull, on 6th March 1917. Posted to France, on 20th October 1917. Formerly 30726, East Riding Yeomanry. Transferred to the 7th East Yorkshire Regiment. Reported wounded and Killed in action, on 25/03.1918, aged 19.
Commemorated on the Arras Memorial, France. His army effects were left to his widowed mother, Alice.
