Thompson, Joseph

Born Cawood, Yorkshire, 1880. Son of Edward and Oretta Thompson, of the Market Place, Cawood, Selby. he had three brothers and eight sisters.

Married on 3rd Jan, 1905. Husband of Annie Thompson at 155, Chanterlands Avenue, Hull (War Pension address). They had four children. Employed as Elementary School, Assistant Teacher. described as 5 foot, 7 inches tall, 117 lbs weight, 34.5-36.5 inch chest, Church of England religion.

He enlisted in Hull, on 31st May 1916. Formerly 122840, R.G.A. Posted to France on 5th April 1917. Transferred to the 7th East Yorkshire regiment. Killed in action, on 30/03/1918, aged 38. He is commemorated on the Arras Memorial, France.
