Born Goole, 1885. Son of William Jackson and Diana Brown. (Parents deceased). He had four brothers and three sisters.
He married on 11 Aug 1907. Husband of Sophia Sayner Eyre, of 27, Vane Street, Spring Bank, Hull (War Pension address). They had four sons and two daughters. A Brewers Labourer and Dock Labourer. Described as 5 foot 9 inches tall, 150 lbs weight, 39- 42 inch chest, good physical development.
Enlisted Goole, on 11th May 1915. Served with the 1st East Yorkshire Regiment. Wounded on 10th April 1916. Appointed Corporal, on 2nd July 1916. Died of wounds, on 03/08/1916, at No 63 Field Ambulance. He served in the army for 1 year and 83 days. He is buried in France. His widow remarried and became Sophia Eyre.
