William O Donoghue

Born Whites Place, Marvel Street, Hull, 1891. Son of John O’Donoghue, (1851-1910) and Hannah Siddle (1851-1903). He had one brother, Joseph and three sisters, Mary, Adia and Maggie and two Half siblings, Ethel and Ernest.

He married Mary Ann Kay (1888-1972), at Hull in 1911, aged 19. Husband of Mary Ann O’Donoghue, at 9 Providence Place Cleveland Street (1911 Census) and 1, Richardson Buildings, Sykes Street, Hull (War Pension address). He was an Oil Mill Labourer.

He served in the 2nd & 5th King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry. Died from Frontal sinusitus 2nd to frontal necrosis, due to projectile injury plus cerebral abscess. Wounded in WW1. Shrapnel in brain which led to tumour. Died on 16/02/1920, aged 28.
