Dearing, Arthur

Born Hessle, 1885. Son of Charles and Louisa dearing.

Married at Hessle, on 2/2/1907. Husband of Eliza Dearing, of 7, River View, Hull Road, Hull (War Pension address). They had five children, Charlie, Leonard, Arthur, Mabel & Ida.

Was a Clerk of Works for the Hull Brewery Company, Silvester Street, Hull. A very good Joiner, the company were sorry to see him leave. Described as 5 foot, 7.5 inches tall, 38-40 inch chest, norml vision, good physical development, very good character. He had served 8 years in the 2nd EY Volunteers Battalion.

He enlisted at Hull, on 20/03/1915. Served in the East Riding Royal Engineers and became a skilled electrician. Served in France from 3/11/1917. Transferred to the 21st Prince of Wales’s Own (West Yorkshire) Pioneer Regiment. Discharged on 13/12/1918 after 3 years and 269 days army service. Awarded the Silver War Badge (n0 59811). Died in Hull, January 1931, aged 46.
